The Papilio ulysses is also called Odysseus butterfly, Empereur Bleu, Blue Mountain, Blue Mountain Swallowtail or Blue Emperor Butterfly.
It is one of the most magnificent tropical butterflies and is one of the large, exotic swallowtails.

It is considered the most beautiful butterfly in Australia.

The basic color is black. The signature glittering blue changes color slightly as you change your viewing angle.
The color nuance of the blue on the upper side of the wings changes from a dark blue to a violet tone.

The wingspan of the Blue Mountain Butterfly is approx. 12-14cm, diagonally approx. 16cm.
